Congratulations to Ian Tolhurst on the completion and launching of “Naida”
35ft Timber Pinky Ketch finally hits the water 13 years after her keel was laid
Naida has been 13 years in the building and every single part of this 35ft timber ketch has been constructed by her owner, Iain Tolhurst. All of the timber used came from within a mile or so of Iain’s Market Garden near Pangbourne on the River Thames, with the exception of the pitchpine deck which was rescued from a dismantled biscuit factory in the area.
I had the pleasure of looking at Naida just prior to her completion and I have seldom seen such an excellent construction job. Iain is a true perfectionist and this is reflected throughout the vessel, as can be seen from the pictures below .
